Holiday Greetings!

Saturday, December 25, 2010 | Publish by MizWasy

"Merry Christmas to all
and to all a good night."

The final lines of what was my favorite Christmas story growing up, only followed by the story of Jesus' birth.

Here's hoping that your holiday is wonderful and magical.

Hugz,
Hope

Bean Soup

Monday, December 06, 2010 | Publish by MizWasy

Bean soup - the ultimate comfort food when paired with a wedge of cornbread - yum!  Today would have been Mom's 68th birthday and I recall making pots of pinto beans cooked with ham hocks (if we could afford them) and making a pan of cornbread in Meemaw's old iron skillet.

About the blog . . .

Here you will find recipes from three generations of home cooks. You'll also find a few tips, tricks and shortcuts along the way to make your cooking easier. This is why my husband calls me "Shortcut Sally." There are times when slaving over a meal is warranted and times when it won't affect the final result if you don't. The trick is for you to know the difference and that your guests don't have a clue.
